Social Video Saver (BYO-Rights)

Download videos you own or have permission to use from direct links, batch them into a ZIP, and capture clean metadata previews—100% client-side and privacy-first.

How It Works

1

Step 1: Paste URLs or Add Files

Paste one URL per line (e.g., direct .mp4/.webm links). Or drag-and-drop your own local video files into the drop zone.

2

Step 2: Validate & Preview

Click Validate to detect which links are direct downloads vs. social URLs. Social links render oEmbed metadata previews where available.

3

Step 3: Download or Make ZIP

Download single files immediately, or combine multiple items into a single ZIP for easy sharing—created entirely in your browser.

4

Step 4: Stay Compliant

Only download content you own or have explicit permission to use. The tool never bypasses platform protections.

Social Video Collector

Extract, preview, and download videos from major social platforms. Support for YouTube, Vimeo, TikTok, Instagram, Twitter and more. 100% client-side processing.

🔒 Privacy-first ⚡ No server required 📱 Mobile-friendly ℹ️ CORS-limited metadata
Why limited metadata?

Most social platforms block direct API access from browsers (CORS policy). This tool extracts what it can from URLs and works best with direct video links. For full metadata, consider using browser extensions or desktop tools.

    Frequently Asked Questions

Can this download from YouTube/Instagram/TikTok directly?

Most platforms prohibit third-party downloading in their Terms. This tool will not bypass such rules. It downloads only direct media links or your own local files, and shows oEmbed previews for context where available.

What is a direct media link?

A URL that points straight to a media file (e.g., ends with .mp4/.webm/.mov) and typically returns a video Content-Type header.

    Is everything processed locally?

Yes. URLs are fetched client-side, ZIPs are built with JSZip in the browser, and saved via the File System Access API or FileSaver fallback. No server uploads.

    Can I bulk download?

Yes. Paste multiple direct media URLs and export one ZIP. A short manifest can be added in future iterations.

    Does it transcode videos?

Not by default. Transcoding requires ffmpeg.wasm (LGPL/GPL-linked and heavy). It’s intentionally off to keep the tool lightweight and license-friendly.
